Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus Writes History, Receives Official Halal Certification From Jakim!

CYBERJAYA, January 15 – Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus, an Indonesian-inspired dish adapted to suit Malaysian taste bud, proudly announced that 12 out of its 70 outlets in Malaysia have officially received HALAL certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). This significant milestone reflects Pak Gembus’s steadfast commitment to upholding HALAL enforcement regulations, aligning with the government’s 2025 initiative to fortify Malaysia’s HALAL industry, all while maintaining exceptional quality and high standards.

“We are thrilled to announce that our efforts to expand HALAL certification have reached a significant breakthrough. This success is truly a win for our customers,” said Mr. Zulkarnain Mohd Yusof, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus Malaysia. “After successfully obtaining HALAL certification for our Central Kitchen in mid-2024, we have now extended this achievement to our outlet level, starting with 12 outlets. For 2025, we aim to certify an additional of 50 outlets. We are incredibly grateful to JAKIM for their strong support throughout this process. This recognition demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that every dish meets strict standards, providing assurance to our customers. The HALAL certification is not only a significant milestone to us but also a critical step in further strengthen the Pak Gembus brand in Malaysia,” he added.

The certified outlets include Saujana Utama 3, Puncak Alam, Setiawangsa, Putra Heights, Semenyih, Bandar Seri Putra, Kajang, Kampung Pandan, NeoCyber, Bandar Baru Nilai, Seremban 3, and Bandar Enstek. For other outlets, customers can rest assured as all food supplies come from their HALAL-certified Central Kitchen. “Our goal has always been to provide exceptional food and hospitality to everyone, and achieving HALAL certification ensures that more members of our community can dine with confidence and with a peace of mind.”  He emphasized.

In line with this progress, Pak Gembus aims to expand further across Malaysia, targeting over 40 new HALAL-certified outlets by 2025. Additionally, strategic plans are underway to open the first outlet outside Malaysia. The press conference was also attended by Bapak Rido Nurul Adityawan, the founder of Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus from Indonesia, and Sahibus Samahah Ustaz Jamali Bin Mohd Adnan, Deputy Mufti of the Federal Territories, who congratulated Pak Gembus on this achievement. Their presence provided encouragement and confidence for Pak Gembus to continue growing and meeting customer demand in Malaysia.
